I love the idea of the veil of our ancestors being thinner this time of year. The idea of the deceased being closer to us than we think is a major theme in Laurus by Eugene Vodolazkin. Currently reading it. It is delightful.

I am SO glad we lined our turnips up on the ledge above our compost bins...they looked adorable as they became grumpier-looking & grumpier-looking! ♡

Oh, cool, Becci...I'm glad you enjoyed the tale of Jack! We picked up some much bigger turnips this year...we're looking forward to carving them again (although it will certainly take some more manpower to hollow them out).
